Kickstarter COMING SOON!!

Surprise Award at the Graduation Assembly

Kenz was asked to sing with Tanner Townsend (click his name or google him... WOW!)
for the "End of the Year" Graduation Assembly.

They practiced several times
and although both of them were dragging their feet to perform,
they had worked hard on the arrangement
and were kind of excited to sing what they had put together.
With poor communication she was almost told "never mind"
-  they had asked another girl to sing.
This made ME panic ....
the Principal at Corner Canyon High School had called
to let me know that five students were going to get a special award during the assembly
and Kenz was one of them.
She needed to be at the assembly.

The day before Kenz, Tanner, and the other girl, Matalyn Zundel
got together and put an arrangement together for them to do ALL TOGETHER.

Day of... they tried to sound check and had trouble with feedback...
but gave up and found a seat in the auditorium.
Until they called Kenzie's name....

She was shocked.

I love this principal - Mary Bailey.
She has been SO supportive of Kenzie and her Idol adventures.
It was really sweet.  She got an award for basically doing the work to "Chase your Dreams".
 I was proud of her.
It has been A LOT of work for Kenz.
Lots of ups and downs.  She has made me so proud.

Then Tanner, Maddy, and Kenz sang.

Arby's Foundation Event

Arby's Foundation had a "Road to Ending Childhood Hunger" Event
at Millcreek's Log Haven.
It was a BEAUTIFUL setting.  Absolutely Gorgeous!
Although Kenz has been fighting a nasty head cold and cough - she was excited to be part of this event.  She sounded great and enjoyed being in such a neat setting.

Utah ‘Idol’ contestants open up as season 13 comes to an end

SALT LAKE CITY — It’s been another successful season of American Idol, and Utah had a good showing of contestants on the show.
Park City’s Austin Wolfe and Draper’s Kenzie Hall have been home for months and back into the swing of things without the big stage and bright lights of American Idol.
“I made it to top 30, and that’s where I was supposed to go but you know there are definitely times when I watch and I’m like, ‘Dang that looks so much fun,’” Kenzie said.
“I’m still getting comments from people that tweet me and be like, ‘I wish you were still on American Idol’ and it’s really cool to see that people still care about what I have to say even though I’m not on the show anymore,” Austin said.
Both said Idol has helped them to launch their music careers.
“I’m actually doing a lot of concerts this summer, a lot of nonprofit events, and we’re going to be in the studio a lot this summer cranking out an album, some cover songs, some new videos too,” Austin said.
Kenzie said it led to new experiences for her.
“It opened a lot of doors for me and it opened a lot of new people to see me I guess and to see my music and it’s awesome,” she said.
So, will they audition again?
Kenzie said: “At this point I’m going to say, ‘Never say never.’ I might. I have no idea yet.”
Austin is also undecided, “I’ve been thinking about auditioning again, I keep going back and forth and I’m really considering it but we’ll have to see what happens.”
Both girls tell FOX 13 News that next season’s Idol auditions are scheduled for the fall, with the closest audition to Salt Lake City being San Francisco.

Utah Freedom Memorial Dedication

On Friday, May 16 at 7 p.m. the Utah Freedom Memorial will be unveiled on a spot just south of Sandy City Hall. There will be a public ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration, as part of Armed Forces Day 2014 celebrations.
“We want to create a place that will honor the lives of soldiers that have given their lives for our freedom as well as help our youth develop a full appreciation of our nation’s core values and the sacrifices that have been made to secure our freedoms,” memorial organizer Paul Swenson said. “This memorial will celebrate freedom and be a reverent place to honor men and women of all branches of the military and from all conflicts.”
The memorial was inspired by Adam Galvez who died in action in Iraq in 2006. Galvez’s parents wanted to pay tribute to their son as well as other soldiers who have died in the line of duty.
The memorial will be built adjacent to the Utah Healing Field 9-11 flag display lawn and directly north of the “Hope Rising” firemen at ground zero sculpture.
