Concert of Hope

Kenz was asked to perform at a Memorial Concert honoring 2 students
(click HERE to read about the accident)

Kenz met the darling three students that survived the crash before the concert began.
Lauren Fenton's mom takes a picture with Kenz before the show.

Kenz spent a lot of time trying to decide what was appropriate to sing.
It was supposed to be a night to celebrate yet both parents and students were invited.
The National Parks were there to get the crowd dancing and singing
- which they did and it was AWESOME!
So Kenz decided to keep her set a little more reverent... so to speak.
A big thank you to Sarah Davies (Piano Place) for accompanying her on piano.

Kenz started with The Dreamer since she loves the song's message and it is up beat.
She mashed up Saturn and Here Comes the Sun knowing that those two bands were favorites of the two students who died.
And closed the night with Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

I was proud of her performance.
Her heart was so touched by the families and she admitted after
that she struggled to keep her emotions in check -
wiping away tears and trying to clear her nose to be able to sing
in the middle of all three of her songs.
Some performances mean a little more... this was one of those.

Cheapskates

Daniel Wilsher asked Kenz to her high school's "Cheapskates" dance.
They went to Airborne for their day activity.
He picked her up and they ate dinner at the Janson home (pasta bar)
and then headed to the dance.
She had a great time.

CCHS Christmas Assembly

Kenz accompanied (and sang a lilttle) with some darling girls for her high school's Christmas Charity Assembly
Morgan Gailbreth & Rachel Russel?
Kenz always says she LOVES playing guitar for other people.  It takes some of the pressure off of her and she loves playing her guitar...

they had some technical difficulties at first... but after they got the mics working they all did great!

Christmas Medley

After her song, she saved Hayden a spot while he ran around taking photos of all the events.
They are so cute.

Surprise Award at the Graduation Assembly

Kenz was asked to sing with Tanner Townsend (click his name or google him... WOW!)
for the "End of the Year" Graduation Assembly.

They practiced several times
and although both of them were dragging their feet to perform,
they had worked hard on the arrangement
and were kind of excited to sing what they had put together.
With poor communication she was almost told "never mind"
-  they had asked another girl to sing.
This made ME panic ....
the Principal at Corner Canyon High School had called
to let me know that five students were going to get a special award during the assembly
and Kenz was one of them.
She needed to be at the assembly.

The day before Kenz, Tanner, and the other girl, Matalyn Zundel
got together and put an arrangement together for them to do ALL TOGETHER.

Day of... they tried to sound check and had trouble with feedback...
but gave up and found a seat in the auditorium.
Until they called Kenzie's name....

She was shocked.

I love this principal - Mary Bailey.
She has been SO supportive of Kenzie and her Idol adventures.
It was really sweet.  She got an award for basically doing the work to "Chase your Dreams".
 I was proud of her.
It has been A LOT of work for Kenz.
Lots of ups and downs.  She has made me so proud.

Then Tanner, Maddy, and Kenz sang.
Assembly #1

Assembly #2 - no guitar
